The Inevitability Of Change

Change is difficult. Choosing to alter a circumstance, situation or relationship is challenging. The fear of failure looms large.

And yet there are many times when we are required to face the inevitability of change. We are required to look beyond what already exists and consider the alternatives.

There is always another way to do the things that we do. There is always anther way to think what we are thinking. There are other approaches…other choices. Other pathways. We can change aspects of the life we are living and, in so doing, alter our direction.

It’s when moving from theory to practice that we have a tendency to stumble. Self-doubt is a barrier we are all required to face.

Even when it feels that our head, our heart and our gut are all in agreement…that alternative measures need to be taken…that the answers we seek require action…we can decide to stick with the status quo.

No action is still an action. No decision is a decision. We are calling the shots. We operate our own control panel.

The concept of destiny is not an excuse for detachment. Confusion can quickly decline into chaos. We run the risk of feeding that part of us that is our worst enemy.

All around us and all inside us in a state of change. Nothing remains the same. It may be evolving or it could be devolving but it is happening despite our very best efforts.

When it comes to those things we can influence or control, it’s importance that any change should be considered change.

A degree of certainty may be difficult, but it should always be sought.

The choices we make will not always be the right ones but, as unique individuals, we have both the ability and the power to make them.
