Change is not always obvious. There are times when it can be almost imperceptible, but it is happening.
Given time, what was ceases to be and becomes what is.
The world keeps turning and we are faced with one of two choices…either accept change or refuse it. Reality, however, dictates that refusal is pointless and can only lead to pain and confusion.
For that reason alone it’s reassuring to know that the change occurring around us can be influenced by the change occurring within us. But only if we choose to let it happen.
We can decide whether to be a part of the world around us or apart from the world around us. We have the power to modify or change our thoughts and actions.
It’s necessary, however, to understand where we are before we can confidently plan where we are going.
Too much excess mental anguish is generated by a refusal to see things as they are…good, bad, or indifferent. The truth may not always be comfortable but it does not cease being the truth.
The strength to accept the truth can be over-ridden by the power to reject it. The battle between the two can be brutal. Only the individual can decide which path to travel and the amount of emotional energy they are prepared to give.
Despite the best or the least of our efforts, change will continue to occur. Far better then to participate in the process rather than opt out.
It’s not always possible to get what we want. What we need can often be more than sufficient. Knowing and accepting the difference is vital.
