It can be more than frustrating to repeat an action and get an unexpected result. Accepting that we live in a world that is, in equal parts, both predictable and unpredictable can be discombobulating.
But uncertainty sits alongside certainty and surprises happen. The best we can hope for is to continue going along for the ride.
Simply because it has been so in the past does not mean that it will continue to be so in the present. And the future remains a mystery in waiting.
The world around us is in a constant state of flux and, as such, sits outside our scope of control.
The process of change is relentless in the human mind and spirit. The good news is that, at least as far as or own self is concerned, we have the power to allow commonsense to influence the choices we make. With power, however, comes responsibility.
One person can make a difference. That difference starts with self before being spread to community.
It’s important to be at peace with the person we know ourselves to be. Conflict with self can be as confusing as it is destructive. Change does not happen in and of itself. Effort is required and, if maintained, effort will be rewarded.
And yet there are many people who freely admit that they do not like the person they have become. As a result they live in a state of turmoil and self-doubt.
We all need clarity and self-definition. More than that we need self-appreciation and understanding.
Only then can we be best equipped to cope with the inevitability of change.
