Good, Better, Best

It is incumbent on us all to live our best life. We owe it to ourselves to make the most of the time we have available.

Given that we are denied certainty when it comes to the issue of the total number of the days of our lives each day is precious and should be treated as such.

Every new day is a fresh opportunity not only to find enjoyment but also to make amends…to build and strengthen relationships…to become a better person.

What we accepted yesterday as our best life many not be our best life today. Circumstances change and we often have no control over that which is happening around us.

But we do have control over that which happens through us. Perceptions, opinions and reactions are ours and ours alone. In that sense at least we are the masters of our own universe.

The person we were does not have to be the person we continue to be. The psychological pain of yesterday does not have to ruin the enjoyment of today. Sadness and guilt will never be forgotten but they are emotions that can be left in the time and place in which they occurred. The sharp and damaging edges can be smoothed. We can change. We can start writing a fresh new chapter that will become part of our book of life.

Wanting change and making change are both united and separated at the same time. The individual makes the link because it is the individual who is required to do the work.

No-one other than the person we are can make the changes we want to see happen.

It takes commitment. It takes effort. But it brings rewards.
