Our Space, Our Place

We all have the need to be seen and we all have the desire to be heard. We want our existence to be acknowledged.

As unique individuals we all occupy a space. It’s our space and will always be so. At various times in our lives we can invite people to share our space but the responsibility of ownership and maintenance of that space remains with us.

There will be times when our space feels small and confined…times when we impose restrictions on ourselves to fit within our perception of our own boundaries and limitations. At other times our space will feel large and expansive encouraging us to live and love loud and free.

The point is that our space is our place and that everyone else has their own space and place.

We have a responsibility to ourselves to make the most of the space we occupy. No-one else can do that for us. No-one else can live the life we have been given. No-one else can be us.

And yet we doubt and disappoint ourselves all too often. We second guess the person we are unable to avoid. Too many people live with a person they neither like nor respect. The tragedy is that that person is themselves.

Peace starts with making our own space safe and the first step is acknowledging our own existence.
