The Right Kind Of Kind

All too often the place we are at is not the place we want to be.

It’s at those times that it is important to remind ourselves of where we were and the lessons we have learned in making the journey from there to here.

Right now, this very minute, is the time that counts. It counts because it’s the time we can control. Our yesterdays have brought us to this point and our tomorrows are uncertain.

There should be no guilt with dissatisfaction, no embarrassment with position or situation if there is a plan for growth and change.

When we are committed to being better today than we were yesterday we can be assured we are moving forward.

So much of the frustration we feel stems from the expectation that other people are responsible for our own fulfilment and happiness.

We overlook the fact that everyone has their own challenges, their own battles and their own demons. We all struggle. And while there is much that we have in common with others, we are all unique.

It’s that individuality that makes us answerable first to ourselves and then to others.

That makes today the most important day of our life. Of all the choices we have, one stands out above all else.

We should choose to be kind…first to ourselves…and then to others.
