Hope Springs Internal

The very best of efforts can sometimes produce the least desirable results. There are many times when we simply fail to get what we want.

The goal is impossible to reach if circumstances move the goalposts mid-way through the exercise. There is nothing quite as frustrating as reaching a predetermined end to discover that the end has become a new previously unforeseen beginning.

The reality is that life rarely goes to plan. A simple explanation is that we change along the journey and so too do the people around us. The only thing predictable is unpredictability.

The temptation can be to quit…to opt out…to refuse to participate. But to do that it’s necessary to abandon hope. Hope is the psychological glue that holds us together. It’s the motivation to believe; the fuel to continue.

Hope is what keeps us going and keeps us focused.

It has often been said that where there’s life, there’s hope but the two are unable to co-exist without faith and faith starts with self-belief.

If we know who we are and we know what we believe and why we believe it then we can cling to hope.

Change comes to us all and it’s important not to lose contact with the person we are at any one point in time.

To thine own self be true.
