Choice Is Ours Alone To Make

Who we are is not only the culmination of all that we have been but it should also be seen as a base point from where we grow to become all that we can be. The decision is ours and ours alone.

We all have the opportunity to write the next chapter in our life story. But opportunity and incentive are two very different things. The first is presented to us. The second we have to find for ourselves.

Just as every one of us has value, so too do we have potential.

The problem many of us face, however, is that we allow the person we were to talk us out of becoming the person we could be. We empower our past to both define our present and dictate our future. We run the risk of allowing ourselves to become the self-fulfillment of a bleak prophecy of our own making.

We all need a second opinion…a fresh perspective. We will find neither until we exercise the option to step outside of our own heads. Stress and anxiety thrive within the confines of our own private thoughts. The intention of privacy may well be protection but it can also become a prison.

Life is all about learning. Importantly it’s about the application of that learning. Most significantly it’s about the willingness to learn.

The lessons of the past have helped shape us into the person we are today. Today’s lessons – and what we do with what we learn – will determine who we are tomorrow and beyond.

Every one of us must decide for ourselves whether we are content to close the shutters on life and withdraw to the confines of our own mindset or whether we will open ourselves to the challenges and rewards that surround us. No-one can do it for us.
