Now. It Is Ours.

Living in the moment and making the most of each and every day does not excuse us from the necessity to do some planning. What it does, however, is give us the focus to live the lives we have as fully as possible.

Spontaneity may be exciting but it is not the answer to everything. In fact, if unmanaged, spontaneity can be confusing in the short term and damaging in the long term.

It’s important to understand where we are so we can then determine if it’s where we want to be. That’s where planning comes into it.

Deciding to do nothing, to make no changes, to stay put in the place at which we have arrived is still a plan. It is a clear and distinct decision to let what is be and accept it for what it is.

But to create and cling to a grand mental vista of how different actions could result in improved circumstance is to build a platform of potential disappointment. That need not be a deterrent to the necessity to keep looking forward rather than to spend valuable time looking back.

More effort needs to be put into looking around us – at the time and space we occupy in the moment.

We are here now (that much we know) but we may not be here to see our grand plan through. And situations and circumstances can result in an entirely different outcome to that which we had hoped for and imagined.

Our todays are far more important than our yesterdays or our tomorrows.

What is will not change what was. What is will not guarantee what will be.

What is…is now.
