For every truth there is a lie. For every argument there is a defense. For every wrong there is a right. Around every corner is a contradiction, a challenge to what we believe and how we think. Rarely is something that it appears to be at first glance.
Confusion can be all-consuming and, when in that state of mind, our mental wellbeing is under attack…we can feel that our sanity is being eroded at the edges.
We crave reassurance….proof that we are headed in the right direction…an understanding that we are achieving and not simply wasting time and effort. We need to be part of the whole that is the society around us.
Never has it be truer that to receive we must first give. It is necessary to pursue in order to find. We have to evaluate those things that we see and hear and test it against what we know. The world will not come to us. We must go to the world.
Life is a challenge and living life can be as difficult as we choose to make it. Ultimately we can choose to be a part or choose to be apart.
There is considerable comfort to be drawn from the knowledge that we can change…that we can adapt. But that means facing choices only we can make. Decision follows discernment. One without the other is a waste of effort and resources.
It’s very much a case of being true to the person we know ourselves to be. No pretence and no bluster. Just an honesty that we owe first to ourselves before we can extend it to those around us.
It’s necessary to accept that there will be challenging times…that there will be emotional hills and valleys along the way…that there will be times of doubt and confusion.
We can imagine where we are going. Reality, however, is the way we live each and every day. It’s important to make the most of it.
