Linking Brinking Thinking

We all need a plan…an idea…an expectation…a hope.

Implementation of a plan is the way we find ourselves moving from where we are to where we want to be. It’s a link between the here and now and the then and there.

Some people make their plan in 12-month grabs and then spend their time, effort and finances in a bid to realise that plan.

Depending on circumstances though, time frames can vary when it comes to making plans.

Sometimes planning for the year ahead, the month, ahead or even the week ahead can prove to be too daunting.

There are occasions when planning for the day ahead may be all that an individual’s capability and capacity can accommodate. In extremes, thinking about the next hour ahead may be all that can be managed.

Vision, then, is an essential survival technique. So too is the ability to realise that a plan is a start, not the end result.

It is essential to understand that flexibility is vital…that even the best laid plans can often go awry.

A start is to be in the day, in the hour and in the moment. Base level is understanding, as much as possible, where we are at any given moment. How we got there is immaterial. We are who we are and we are where we are.

Honesty with self is one of the most difficult states to achieve. Without it, however, there can be no real vision. It’s vital that we see what is around us and accept it before we can start to contemplate that which lies ahead.

When it comes to the issue of a robust mental health, there are responsibilities and challenges that demand a response.

We ignore them at our peril.
