The Challenge Of Change

Motivation is easy to ignore. There are things we know that need to be done; issues that need to be addressed.

But motivation is an internal drive that is all too easy to dismiss. Without action it is nothing more than an emotional ripple.

It’s finding the link between knowing and doing that makes every difference in the way we live our lives. The thinking is simple. Our thought patterns can be as wild an illogical as they can be sensible. Determining the difference and then taking action on those things that make the most sense can be the difference between happiness and despair.

Motivation takes effort and an effort that must be sustained through to task completion.

We can draw inspiration from others but when it comes time to flex emotional or physical muscle we are left to our own devices.

No-one can do the heavy lifting for us.

A good thing about the action which follows motivation is that it can succeed by degrees. Rarely is sustainable change dramatic. One step forward, one day at a time may be all it takes to bring about the change or improvement we are seeking.

It all must start somewhere and at some time. Nothing done means nothing gained and inaction can become addictive.

For the sake of our physical and mental wellbeing it is important to properly assess where we are in relation to where we want to be.

Once we are through the difficult task of facing the truth we can then decide if change is desired. And it’s in understanding that change is possible that we can take the first steps to realising our potential.

No-one ever said that change is easy but a response to challenge can be followed by reward.

Personal responsibility is vital.
