Hoping And Coping

What we expect from those around us often far exceeds that which we get and disappointment can be a difficult emotion.

Clarity can be replaced by confusion and plans can evaporate.

But it’s important to keep in mind that an emotion is not a physical thing. Emotions can only impact on our wellbeing to be the extent that we allow.

Our imaginations can run riot. We can become besotted by potential. We can dream of bigger and better things in our life.

In the final analysis, however, we are left to deal with what we have not what we had either anticipated or expected.

Accepting reality can be difficult. Dealing with reality can be harder still.

There are circumstances and situations we would prefer to sidestep and, while postponement is often possible, it cannot be the ultimate solution.

Avoidance is not the answer. It becomes another problem in, and of, itself.

Not every response is the right response and not every reaction is the right action but inaction is nothing.

We have a responsibility to ourselves to manage whatever it is that life hands us…good, bad or indifferent.

It’s a job no-one can do for us.

There should be no shame in asking for guidance or assistance. It’s not necessary to rely solely on life’s lessons learned.

It’s all about coping and coping in a positive way to achieve the right balance in self-management.

It takes effort but it that effort reaps rewards.
