There is no shortage of information available. Anything we want to know can be researched. Facts, figures and opinions are freely available. So much is believable but how much of the information is factual?
This is the century of concoction…a time when we have to question just about everything we see and hear.
That means it’s incumbent on us all to maintain a level of skepticism. We need to seek answers. Knowledge may well be power but confusion is control.
It’s long been said that those who stand for nothing will fall for anything. And that much is true. We need to know both what we believe and why we believe it.
Set ideas can be challenged and mindsets can be changed but a solid foundation is essential. We need to rely on the bedrock of commonsense that so many choose to ignore at their peril.
Too many of us live in a world of self-doubt. That can reduce us to a state where we simply do not trust our own beliefs and opinions. We are no longer able to back ourselves and that becomes a distinct weakness when challenges arise. And rise they will.
It’s vital that we be honest with the person we know ourselves to be. That honesty is core to emotional and psychological survival.
If we are unable to know and trust the person we are it is impossible to know and trust the people sharing our space.
A true, full and satisfying life starts with looking within. And it’s a focus that must be maintained.
Honesty is not easy. But it is essential.
