Change is rarely simple, nor is it easy.
Switching from one state of mind or one state of being to another can be riddled with difficulty.
Change means both an end to something and the beginning of something else. It’s the transitionary period that can be the most challenging.
Embracing the unknown means cutting ties with the familiar. The past and the present will never make a good and comfortable mix.
The danger is that we can become caught in the limbo that exists between the then and now. Reluctant to leave what we know and move to something we need to learn there can be a tendency to procrastinate. We can put our lives into neutral. What that means is missed opportunities and a negative impact on future possibilities.
The world around us keeps changing and we need to keep pace if we want to enjoy the life we are living or alter the life that gives us no pleasure.
The difference between a world perspective and an individual view is that we have no control over the former but every chance to direct the latter.
Change for the mere sake of change is unwise. There must always be a reason behind the motivation. Honesty is a good place to start.
It must be accepted and understood that change at the insistence of others is destined to fail. Until we either want it or need it a shift in direction will not succeed.
It’s important, therefore, to be aware and to self-examine avoiding falling into an obesssion with self-criticism.
When we understand where and who we are and where and who we want to be the way forward will become clearer and more acceptable.
Anything is possible.
