We do ourselves no favours if we miss the significance of this very point in time.
All that has gone before – good, bad, happy and sad – has brought us to this moment. The past has gone. There are no remakes or do-overs. We did what we did with the chances and opportunities that presented themselves when they did.
The past is a memory and, although we would like to have them, there are no assurances about the future. The mystery is that we are.
We have now and it’s important that we be in the now. Our presence is vital to our wellbeing. To appreciate the moment we must be in the moment and that can take determination, application and focus.
We are surrounded by distraction. Events and individuals conspire to drag us away from the present moment. There are always other things we should be doing or other things we should be thinking. But those other things exist beyond the reality of the moment.
Right now and right here is as real as it can ever be.
When we learn to be in the moment and appreciate its wonder and its worth then we are permitting ourselves to be real.
Life is nothing more and nothing less than a series of moments…each one of them as important as each other.
That makes now important. Appreciate the now by being in the now.
There are no promises but there are assurances that can be drawn from the here and now. For that we should be grateful.
