Life is as difficult as we choose to make it. When faced with alternatives, we get to decide. When confronted by circumstances our reaction is entirely our own. Having made the choice the consequences – whether good or bad – belong to us.
Personal responsibility is a burden that should never be lightly considered. It is a burden that cannot be dismissed. Nor is a burden that can be transferred. Shirking is not the answer.
Life is both challenging and rewarding, not always in equal manner. There are times when the weight of the world sits uncomfortably on our shoulders. There are other times when the sun shines and the birds sing. There is never a time when not making a decision is the answer. Peace is not to be found in procrastination.
We all have an internal remote control and only we have access to it. We get to decide which buttons will be pushed and when.
Situations and circumstances may upset and confuse us. We may be troubled by things that are happening around us. Ultimately, however, we get to choose our reaction. And, should that reaction prove to be unwise or incorrect, we get the opportunity to reboot and try again.
Our life is a life to do with what we choose.
The good news is that, should we need some advice or assistance, it’s always available.
We need to put less effort into hoping and more effort into coping. It’s up to us.
