The Need For Now

It’s not possible to avoid stress and anxiety but it is possible to reduce the impact of both, minimising the potential that they could develop into disorders.

A degree of tension keeps us focused…too much can confuse and confound.

It makes good sense to look ahead and brake before hitting the emotional or physical wall. Early intervention is the preferred course of action. But that requires awareness.

It takes practice and effort to determine individual tipping points and they can vary according to circumstance. There are times when we are strong and times when we are more vulnerable.

Three key lifestyle factors must be recognised and taken into account…relaxation, diet and exercise.

Mind and body work together. Neglecting either can have dire and long-term consequences. Having both work in unison takes effort.

The life we lead demands a lot of us. So much insists on our attention and input. Our mental and physical resources are continually being depleted.

Monitoring our own wellbeing is important but not nearly as important as restocking and restoring.

Sometimes it requires a conscious effort to step back, pause, and take the time to take care of ourselves.

Focusing on who we are and where we are is not self-indulgence. It’s common sense.
