Balance Is No Act

There is much we will never understand. Some of the things we see and experience defy explanation. Answers may be sought but sometimes they are simply not able to be found. Quite simply, confusion is part of the human condition.

The more we struggle attempting to make contact with emotions and situations that sit just beyond our reach, the greater the threat to our mental wellbeing. We run the risk of tipping the balance.

That possibility, however, should never be allowed to stifle curiosity. Fear of failure is only one of the self-imposed restrictions we face during our lifetime. So too is fear of success. Inaction is not the answer.

In every situation we face choices. But, having decided on a particular direction, we are then confronted with the prospect of consequence. We are all unique individuals and, as such, we are all responsible for the care and maintenance of that individual. Never is that responsibility greater than when it comes to the issue of mental health.

Head and heart need to function in unison to ensure the best outcome but it’s always what we think that dictates what we do. It may be true that action speaks louder than words but thought is the driving and governing force.

It starts with honesty…being true to ourselves. Working hand-in-hand with honesty is kindness…being kind to ourselves. The package deal is defined as self care.

And it embraces the fact that we are never alone and help is at hand.

So many of the answers we seek are already within us. At times though we need assistance to access the courage of our own convictions.
