Truth In The Testing

It’s only when we are tested that we are either comforted or confronted by the true depth of our feelings or the true strength of our convictions. Until then theory must suffice.

But ideas are a long way short of the practicalities of their application and it’s within the gap between the two that we can founder.

When pressure is applied we learn more about what we keep in our head and our heart. And it’s the application of pressure that results in true honesty. There comes a time when it becomes necessary to separate fact from fiction. We can reach that point through our own volition or we can be dragged, kicking and screaming, by the individuals and circumstances that surround us.

Both the choice and the timing are personal. A certainty, however, is that there is an element of trauma involved.

There is no-one more challenging to face than the person we know ourselves to be. We can be are our own biggest disappointment or our most significant reward.

It’s reassuring to know that we can choose because we know the truth about who we are and who we want to be.

How we do life is important. It’s even more important that we do life.

We learn about the world around us as we make our way from day to day. And while looking around and being aware is necessary for survival, looking inside and learning more about ourselves from the tests we encounter is where we discover our true strength.
