Time is a gift and yet it is a gift that is often under-valued.
We spend the time we have finding someone to love us and finding someone to love. It’s that need to be part of something greater than ourselves that is our driving force.
How we spend our time is a matter of choice. We decide.
But the point most overlooked is that the time we have is limited. It had a starting point and it will come to an end.
Uncertainty, then, should result in improved focus and greater determination…a commitment to making the time we have the most satisfying and productive possible.
It’s at this time of the year – a period of reunion and reflection – that we are faced with the truth of our own time.
The reality is that the time we have is the time we take and what we do with a limited but precious resource.
Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is yet to be. Accepting that can be difficult. But it is in acceptance that we can hope to find peace.
We have today. We can waste it or we can put it to good use. We can postpone or we can seize the moment. We can use it or lose it.
We can make the most of the time we know we have and that time is now.
There is no time like the present. This, being the gift-giving season, it makes good sense to put every effort into making our presence our present…caring and sharing.
It starts with be kind to ourselves.
Be in the moment and enjoy it.
