Now Is This Moment

Living in the moment does not involve a time or mind swap. Being present is not forgetting the past nor ignoring the future.

Being here and now is, however, all about maximising the time that we have…dealing with what is rather than struggling with what was or worrying about what will be.

What is should be grasped. At this articular moment what is may be uncomfortable, unsavoury or difficult. Alternatively what is may be exciting, challenging and enjoyable. For any or all of that what is right now is real and what is real right now calls for a reaction.

If we are distracted by the past or fearful of the future we run the risk of missing the magic of the moment. We replace what we have with what we had or what we wish for.

Life gives us pain and challenge and we need to be resourceful to survive. But life also gives us magic moments…those times when good things come together and touch our mind, heart and soul.

It’s important to be open to those moments…to be willing to receive them…to be prepared to grab them with both hands and hold them close no matter how fleeting they may be.

Life is, after all, an accumulation of moments and it’s the memory of those moments that dictates how we feel and how we cope.

If we are unable to face and deal with the bad moments then there is a very good chance we will be unable to appreciate the good.

This moment is now and this moment will not come again.
