There are times in our life when the pathway that links where we are to where we want to be is clearly defined. We can step forward with confidence. We know what we want and we know what we have to do to get it.
These are the times that we should step back, observe and enjoy because they are the less common times we will encounter along life’s journey.
More than likely we come up against setbacks and confusion. What was once clear has suddenly become murky. That which made sense yesterday is now today’s nonsense.
It takes effort and application to live our best life. More than that it takes acceptance of the fact that there are some things we will never be able to control.
Not everything is possible and the more we struggle with the impossible, the more we drain our emotional, spiritual and physical resources. Situations and circumstances may be hurtful but no more hurtful than we allow them to be.
It takes skill and experience to reach the stage where we know that it is important to pick our fights. There is only so much we are able to do. We waste our time and energy to our own detriment.
Acceptance of limitation, however, should not stifle realistic ambition or call an end to effort.
As unique individuals we are stronger and more resourceful than we realise.
As us, we are enough.
Understanding and appreciating that can take effort. The results though are worth it.
