There is much we can do. Much we can achieve.
But there is also much which we are unable to do…situations, circumstances and individuals over which we have no control. There are things that will never change despite our very best efforts.
Despite that here is both satisfaction and frustration in wishing and hoping. Optimism can be a supportive attitude. Some things will change given time. What we are struggling to tolerate now may not be what we are expected to tolerate in the future.
It can be difficult to understand that what we had may not be what we have.
By the same token, however, what we have in the here and now may not be what we get in the then and there.
What we are left with is that the reality of our existence is narrowed down to this very point in time. Now is what counts. Now is when it counts. Now should neither be taken for granted or ignored.
We have this moment to think new thoughts; to decide to take a new direction; to change our life story.
Once this moment has passed it will be gone forever. But then we will have a new moment. What we do with it is entirely up to us.
Every moment is a fresh opportunity…a chance to change.
Our life can be altered in the instant of that moment and – while we may not be able to change to the situation, the circumstances or the individuals around us – we can change what we have inside of us.
It’s what we decide to do with what we have and where we are that will determine the quality of our life.
It’s an awesome responsibility and it’s an individual responsibility.
