The Power Of Chat

Two essentials when it comes to the delicate issue of mental stability are connection and communication. If one or both are not present balance and clarity can become confusion.

Quite often connection can involve re-reconnection…refreshing past links…renewing and re-envigorating friendships.

But connection is incomplete without communication.

We need to talk. We need to give voice to those thoughts that rattle around inside our heads. It’s in putting things into words that we tap into the truth or doubt that lurks within.

Shared memories are important. So too are shared ideas and shared dreams.

Our mental health suffers when our psychological side is kept hidden.

It’s not enough to just be physically present. Heart, head and mind need to be in the room at the same time.

That can take effort.

But being in the moment with others and sharing conversation is a way to stay grounded and it’s in staying grounded that we keep our grip on reality.

Quite simply, it’s worth the effort.

Connection, however, does not happen accidently. Connection requires contribution. The same is true of conversation.

Sometimes it’s necessary to step outside the comfort zone we have created for ourselves in order to discover what lies beyond.

It can be surprising to discover that there are many others of like mind…individuals craving conversation and the connection that comes with it.

It all starts with a simple chat.
