The Time Of Our Lives

Everyone battles with unresolved issues…the unfinished business we carry from our past into our present.

Apart from the weight of those issues we struggle with guilt and guilt can result in remorse and regret.

The truth is that there will always be relationships and situations where we could have done more at the time. Or perhaps we did more than we should have done. Possible scenarios continue in a loop as we continue to ponder the “what ifs.”

The problem there is that we are using our present self to judge our past self. We have shifted position from the then to the now. We have changed. That person then is not this person now.

One of the most difficult things that we have to accept is that there is no way to change the past. What was done remains done. What was said remains said. What happened in a different time and place belongs in that time and place.

The good news is that it’s always possible to build a new future. What was does not have to be what is just as what is does not have to be what will be.

Whether we choose to learn from our unresolved issues and grow both spiritually and emotionally is entirely up to the individual. But each new day brings with it a new opportunity.

Mental wellbeing is reliant on personal peace. That peace comes through acceptance and understanding of self and both take effort and time.

The rest of our lives and what could be the best of our lives can start today.
