The Inside Out

It’s no accident that we are the type of person we have grown to be. The problem is that reasons are easier to find than explanations. Reasons can be quickly dismissed but explanations require self-examination.

Reasons are linked with blame. We are what we are and the way we are because of incidents and situations occurring outside and around us. That much is easy but it’s not the way to find peace and resolution.

Life is so much simpler when the finger is pointed away from the person we are. When we start pointing our own fingers back at ourselves action is demanded.

Acceptance can be hard to find but it is out there somewhere and often comes with limitations. Self-acceptance is a solo task and the effort required can be exhausting.

It’s only by finding peace with ourselves that we can find true peace with the world around us. We all have a place and a purpose…a reason for being. But the happiness we need to find inside ourselves can sometimes be shrouded by a lack of understanding and certainty.

We are responsible for our own happiness. We are responsible for our own self-worth.

Our own mental wellbeing is compromised if we fail to deal with the consequences of our own being.

Angst is generated by the effort we put into looking for answers in all the wrong places.

At the heart of the matter is the matter of the heart. We have a personal responsibility not only to guard that part of us that is our heart but also to understand it.

It’s when heart and head work in unison that we find peace and sanity amid the confusion that is everyone’s daily life.
