Seen, Heard and Noted

We all have a place and we all have a purpose. And we all have a need to be seen and heard.

The problem is that society has a way of ignoring many needs and wants. Gaps open between the necessary and the available and people fall through the cracks.

As individuals knowing what is needed and lacking the capacity to make it happen results in confusion, pain and suffering. The ultimate victim is mental health and wellbeing.

Too many of us reach a point in our life where we believe we no longer matter…that we have nothing more to offer…that we are invisible…that no-one cares.

We lose sight of the fact that we occupy a specific space in a defined time and we lose understanding of the fact that there is much that can be done inside that space and time. Attitude and opportunity can make all the difference and both can be created.

We are what we think and we are who we think. Growth and change are always possible.

There comes a time when it is necessary to look outside the boundaries, restrictions and parameters we have created for ourselves. There comes a time when our chosen safe place can become our prison.

There was a time before the pain and there can be a time beyond the pain.

The first step is to understand that there is help available…that there are people who care.

The second and most important step is to reach out and ask for help.

We can be seen and we can be heard but no-one can generate that recognition for us.

There is no time like now and no day like today.
