The Future Feature

Most of us have, at the very least, a vague idea of how we will live out our future. We see the days ahead through a prism of ambition, hope and expectation.

But it’s in the waiting for the future to arrive that fear and anxiety linger. Not knowing corrodes confidence. Uncertainty clouds judgement affecting focus and direction.

Ideas must be turned into action through execution. It’s in the doing that things get done. And it takes effort to achieve. The same thing done the same way will always get the same result.

Doing something different takes courage and commitment and stepping up to face the uncertainty of the future can be daunting but, in the final analysis, it is far better to step up than it is to step back.

Anxiety is the curse of the generations. Fear is debilitating and restrictive. The thing that so many people fear the most is fear itself. The more the feeling grows the more difficult it can become to define and when fear lacks definition its destructive force peaks.

It should not be forgotten that we need some fear in our lives and that anxiety can be weaponised and used as a shield protecting us from attacks.

We all need to guard ourselves. But in guarding ourselves from the enemy outside we should not lose sight of the enemy within.

If we allow ourselves to become convinced that some things are impossible then they will always remain so.

It pays to remind ourselves that today is yesterday’s future. We’re here and it’s time to do something about it.
