Peace and goodwill are admirable attributes and both give us all something to aspire to.
Reality, however, means that the worst in us can often block out the best in us.
We know what we want but time and circumstance conspire to stymie the best of intentions and steer us away from the intended target.
Time is needed to refocus, redefine and reactivate and yet time is limited. Despite that we often fall victim to the temptation to waste the time available to us. We procrastinate and prevaricate missing opportunities and denying ourselves success and the pleasures that come with it.
The truth lies within and we all carry the truth with us. We know when our thinking goes awry and it is very obvious to us when our behaviour falls short of our own potential and expectation.
We know when we have done wrong and that knowledge is a particular burden when we are acutely aware that we have chosen to do wrong.
Our own level of responsibility can sometimes be difficult to accept and yet it is more than difficult to escape.
It takes effort to be kind and, as far as possible, live in peace with those around us.
Life can be difficult…certainly as difficult as we choose to make it.
The good news is that every day is filled with opportunity and possibility.
The potential for change and improvement is only limited by our own desire and imagination.
The time is now. The time is right.
