There is much that can be worried about when taking into account the negativity happening locally, nationally and internationally. And there is much to be feared.
But worry and fear do little more than erode our own mental state. Worry and fear do not improve situations. Individually and combined they weaken us to the point where we can begin to doubt ourselves, our beliefs and our values.
We can become less than who we should be by taking on the concerns and perceived responsibilities of situations and circumstances over which we have no control.
We have a life and it is incumbent on us all to live that life and live it as fully as possible.
There is a strength within us all. It’s a strength built on lessons learned; on knowing what we believe and, more importantly, why we believe it.
There are people who can help us find and develop that strength and then use that new state of mind to appreciate who we are and what we have as much as where we are and where we would like to be.
Appreciating our own self-worth and value is the key to the happiness we generate for ourselves. No-one else can do that for us.
First, though, we have a responsibility and that is as simple as it is complex.
First we have to say yes to life.
