It’s important to plan but far more important to be adaptable.
At the very least we should expect the unexpected and work on boosting our coping mechanisms long before we have to call on them.
We are all impacted by anxiety…some cope with it while others suffer because of it.
Fear of future unknowns is something that bonds us as a society but can destroy us as individuals.
Setbacks will happen. There will be disasters. Pain and suffering are part of living.
It’s in learning the lessons of past hurts that we strengthen ourselves for those to come. But that takes both honesty and effort.
We can seek the guidance and advice of those around us but, in the final analysis, the responsibility is ours and ours alone.
While it’s not possible to change the past it is possible to brace for the future and a significant part of that is making the most of the present.
Each new day is a new opportunity…a fresh chance to gather our thoughts and work at tackling our fears.
The time to strengthen coping skills and face anxieties is before the crisis occurs.
Not every day will be sunshine and roses. Neither does it have to be black clouds and defeat.
We get to make our choices. We get to decide where we sit on the spectrum of sanity.
What we think and why we think it is every bit as important as how we act.
