Sting In The Fail Tale

Life’s lessons are generally learned through trial and error. It’s very rare to get something right at the first attempt.

What that should teach us is that there is more to be gained through missing the mark than in hitting the target. But the most important part of that lesson is the need to try again.

A fail should never be the end of the story. It should become a building block and the lessons learned incorporated in a new strategy.

A fail only becomes a full-blown failure when no subsequent action is taken.

It’s both challenging and reassuring to know that the energy we put into any relationship or venture is entirely of our own creation. No-one else can do it for us. It’s our mental fortitude and agility, our dedication and application and our desire that helps us determine our effort and our level of satisfaction – head and heart united in a common purpose.

Just as it’s true that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure it’s also true that, ultimately, we decide whether we have succeeded or fallen short of the mark.

We may not always be able to design the playing field and the rules can often be confusing but the game we play is entirely our own.

The game of life will never be won at any level if we make no effort. And it’s personal.
