It can sometimes be difficult to grasp the concept that we are part of a community and what we think, do and say can have an impact on that community.
That raises the issue of responsibility; that it is incumbent on us all to consider those around us; that each and everyone of us is a small part of a much greater entity.
But what it also does is raise the issue of the importance of being; that we all have value; that we all have a role to play.
Living life involves the pursuit of purpose. We know that we are but we need to know why we are.
Too many of us carry the weight of self-criticism. Too many of us expect more of ourselves than is either necessary or even possible.
Too many of us become our own worst enemies in a world where we all need friends.
When our mental state is burdened our lives can become challenging…we can believe things that simply are not true; see things that are simply not there.
It is important, therefore, to realise that we are enough…that we are a part and not apart…that we are worthy.
The very best friend we can have is the friend we make of ourselves.
The very best thing we can do is extend that friendship to others.
