It’s a sobering truth that every decision we make will have an impact on the life we are living. There’s a knock-on effect for even the simplest of choices. What we do or say now is leading to what it is that we will do or say then. The present may not be able to change the past but it does impact on the future.
Understanding that can result in analysis paralysis. We can overthink a subject to the point of mental exhaustion. But it can also result in resolution recklessness. We can react without giving a subject due consideration. We can either do nothing, do little or do far too much.
It’s important therefore that we look for the Goldilocks answer. That’s the one where the outcome is neither too unpalatable or too easy. It’s where common sense prevails and where the path chosen is the best alternative given the time and circumstances under which the choice was made.
There are no certainties. Rock solid guarantees do not exist. The best we can manage is the best we can manage.
The worst thing we can do is to do nothing. An action or decision taken is an action or decision that can later be either modified or enhanced depending on the circumstances.
We sit in the driver’s seat of our own life’s vehicle.
What we decide or refuse to face along the journey will make the trip either more, or less, enjoyable.
