Everything changes. Nothing remains the same.
Some change is subtle while some change is dramatic but the fact remains – that which is is not that which was and is not that which will be.
It applies every bit as much to people as it does to circumstances, events and situations.
The concern is that change is a problem to many of us. The mere prospect causes stress and stress can be mentally debilitating.
We cause ourselves unnecessary grief and torment when we refuse to accept the inevitable.
The most difficult thing to understand is that while we can influence and even direct personal change there is so much happening around us over which we have no control.
Whether we decide to go with the flow or swim against it the flow will persist.
And the good news is that change need not be feared.
In the final analysis it’s not the change that is of ultimate importance it’s how we react to the change.
What we do with what we have and what we are handed as we make our way through life determines our level of content and happiness.
We can decide whether we will make the best of a bad situation or the worst of a good situation.
Both the choice and the responsibility are ours.
So too are the consequences of whatever decision we make and direction we take.
