We spend too much time waiting for someone else to do something…to re-connect, to apologise, to move on, to change and, all the while, we work on building our reserves of anxiety.
Quite often the thing we want the most is the thing we fear the most. The unknown has so many potential challenges that we overlook the fact that the unknown can also have so many rewards.
Not everything is worth the wait just as not everything we wait for will come to pass.
One of the enemies is time. Another is our memory.
Too often we forget the reason that caused the problem in the first place. Too often obstinance rules over common sense. Too often the passage of time robs us of the opportunity to put things right.
It’s all too easy to overlook the point that real change is the change we generate ourselves. Real change is generated from within but only after a commitment is given to the challenge.
Such change may not alter reality because we are all individually responsible for what we do and how we act.
At the very least though real personal change can give us the strength to accept, if not to understand.
We should never fear the person we have the potential to become if we look to the future with positivity not pessimism.
