Happy Is As Happy Does

Happiness lies within. It’s there inside us all. We own our own happiness. It’s our responsibility to foster and maintain all the associated positive emotions including joy, contentment and gratitude.

The problem is that situations and circumstances can result in us losing our connection to happiness.

It’s at those times that we look to others to feed that need for emotional, mental and spiritual tranquility. And that’s where we come unstuck.

Everyone is on a personal quest to find a happy state of wellbeing. It’s a primary driver in all our lives. But when burdened with the weight of expectation it can become more of a hindrance than a help.

If we attempt to shift the obligation for our own happiness to another individual or organisation only disappointment can result.

It’s what we do with what we have and what we are handed that makes all the difference.

That does not preclude ambition. But being content with where we are is right for now. It’s important to be in the moment. If we fail to understand and appreciate who we are and what we have today the same lack of connection and contentment awaits us tomorrow.

True happiness can be found in the harmonious relationship between head and heart…our own head and our own heart. We can take a lead from others but it’s a personal quest with personal rewards.
