It’s important to have goals…something to work towards…to plan for…something to keep us inspired.
Without inspiration we can stall. It’s not enough to have a plan to make a plan. We sell ourselves short when we fail to take advantage of the opportunities that are around us.
There are times when we will have to work harder than others to identify ways to build what we have into what we want. Connecting what we know to what we expect or anticipate is not always easy. And the link is not always sustainable. But a disappointment is not a disaster. Opportunity can be found in failure.
No-one else can set our goals. It’s very personal. Others can inspire or encourage. Alternatively others can ridicule and dissuade. We choose what we take and accept from those around us as we make the journey from here to there. Just as the effort is ours, so too is the reward.
Small goals help us along the way to a major goal. Sometimes making it through one day at a time can be enough. But days build into weeks, weeks into months and months into years.
It all starts with a goal that is both realistic and achievable. At the same time it should also be challenging.
Reaching a goal is just the beginning. There is so much beyond.
