Talking And Hearing

In a world where fear and frustration continually assail our mental wellbeing conversation is key.

Left alone with our thoughts we run the risk of losing perspective. When the only voice we are unable to turn off is the one inside our head we can find ourselves being drawn to dark places. And still the internal chatter can continue.

It’s important that we give voice to the thoughts we have that frighten or concern us. It’s when we put into words those things that are troubling us that we open ourselves up to solutions. When we hear what it is that we have been thinking logic and common sense can kick in. Our grip on reality strengthens when we become openly aware of what we have been internalising.

Keeping it to ourselves is never the answer. That’s not to suggest we should use opinions to attack; that there should not be some filters on what we are saying. But it’s only by speaking up that we will be heard and noticed. And it’s only by speaking out that we get to be an audience to our inner-self.

It takes courage to confront our fears. It takes strength to battle our demons. Both can be drawn from others.

There are people who will help. There are people who will listen. We have a responsibility to ourselves to find them.
