What we think can have an impact on our mental stability while what we say can have an impact on the mental stability of those around us.
There’s personal responsibility attached to both scenarios.
Thoughts are random and can be unsettling. We have little control over the scattered bits of information that come to mind. It’s possible though to train our minds to resist going down dark and dangerous pathways. We can close doors and create barriers. We can learn to think better. It’s essential we do that because it’s altogether possible to become what we think.
What we say is another matter altogether. We have the opportunity to think about what we say long before we give voice to it. What we say can be either weaponised or modified thoughts. There’s a link between idea and conversation and the individual has control over that link. We get to choose.
No-one can know our thoughts but everyone can hear our words. Thoughts need to be ordered before words are chosen. We can always rethink but is can sometimes be impossible to retell.
The right word at the right time can save a life or restore a relationship. The wrong word at the wrong time can have the opposite effect.
The responsibility sits with the individual. Either way there will be consequences.
