Help Is At Hand

For far too many of us the two things that stand between a problem and its solution are recognition and admission.

We put a lot of time and effort into packing problems into our personal grief case and making sure the lid is sealed. We want to believe that out of sight is out of mind despite knowing that to be untrue. Refusal to recognise and accept does nothing more than delay the inevitable. And the longer we delay, the bigger the problem can become.

One of the most difficult things we face is admitting that we need help. Those on the inside looking out see admission as a sign of weakness while those on the outside looking in see it as a sign of strength.

There is nothing new under the sun…no pain, no problem that has not been faced before. There are individuals and agencies all around us who have been down the path we are on.

But while help is out there it’s up to the individual to admit they need it and then to find it.

The first step is to take a look inside and then own and admit what we find. It’s only then we can decide to do something about it.

A decision paves the way to finding the help that it out there.
