Everything we do, say and think has an impact. At any given time, in any given place someone is taking note of the person we are seen to be. The ripple effect of our being should never be underestimated or undervalued.
But the real impact of our actions, words and thoughts is on ourselves. We are and we become someone of our own creation.
True accountability is accountability to self first and foremost. We set our standards, we make our decisions and, ultimately, we confront our own consequences.
While what others think of us has a degree of influence, what we think of ourselves is absolutely vital.
So many of the struggles so many of us go through stems from self-disappointment.
Who we are weighs heavily on our minds and the burden is made worse because no-one knows more about the person we are than ourselves. We can close off to the world should we so choose but there is nowhere to hide from the person within.
That makes it all the more important to become our own best friend…to get to know ourselves, understand ourselves and respect ourselves. Ultimately we need to love ourselves before we can truly love another.
Change is possible. Peace through change is desirable.
Our next action, word and thought is important. It could alter our life’s direction.
