The Vital Next Breath

So much time is spent looking for answers that we run the very real risk of forgetting what the questions were in the first place.

We can get caught up in the pursuit to the point where we are longer longer enjoying the race.

It takes constant and concentrated effort to avoid being distracted by the confusion that surrounds us.

Too much valuable time is wasted on regret and expectation…sad about the past and fearful of the future.

It’s when we look away from where we are to where we’ve been or where we expect to be that we can lose our place.

Our next breath is the most important one we will ever draw and that makes this very moment one which should be appreciated.

However we got to where we are right now and all the good and all the bad we had to go through to get here is far less important than the fact that we are where we are and we are who we are.

Our story thus far is nothing more and nothing less than our history and while it can be re-imagined it can’t be rewritten.

It is, however, within our capability to choose a way forward.

Just as our next breath is our most important, our next thought could be our most significant, our next action a step towards a new and improved future.

It’s important to see every day as a new opportunity…the chance for a fresh start…a new beginning.

It’s only by appreciating and enjoying the moment we are in that we will be able to enjoy and appreciate the life we are living. The big picture is only a collection of little pieces.

As individuals we are all responsible for ourselves. That’s a responsibility that should always be taken seriously.
