Not everything we see or hear will make complete sense to us at the point and time of encounter. There can be more confusion than clarity; more upset than understanding.
The passage of time will make some things clearer but there will always be both concepts and characters that we will never fully understand. That does not mean we are deficient. It means we are human.
While there may be times in our existence where comparative excellence is achieved, perfection will never be attained. We can always be better but both the concept and the condition of best will always be just out of our reach.
It’s important to accept that we are all flawed. It’s also important to understand that flaws are not excuses. Too many of us restrict the possibility of achieving our real potential by settling for our short-comings.
The goalposts of life may appear to be set but they can always be moved. Changing circumstances that are beyond our control or direction can alter our boundaries or move the parameters. But we – as individuals – are agents of change. As such the who that we are can be far more effective than the they that is them.
Who we are today is not who we were yesterday and not who we will be tomorrow therefore it is essential that we understand and accept who we are right now.
That means accepting that we are imperfect and that there are things we are unable to understand. The choice is ours. Accept or deny.
So much anxiety is triggered by a lack of acceptance. A lot of it comes from a lack of acceptance of aspects of the world around us but far too much it comes though from a lack of acceptance and understanding of the world that exists within us.
