Now Is The Moment

There are some people who spend too much time looking back to their past…reliving the things they are unable to change…regretting actions and inactions…living a life of “what ifs”.

Others put far too much energy and time into anticipating the future…dreading what may or may not happen…fearful of the unknown.

It’s important to remind ourselves that what was then is part of what is now and that which is to be will be. We can learn and grow from past experiences but it’s not possible to benefit from something which has yet to happen.

We will look back and we will attempt to look forward but it is far more beneficial to look around.

Who we are and where we are is more important than who and what we were or who and what we may become.

And it’s only in the moment, in the hour and in the day that we can be fully aware of our real selves, our place and our potential.

If we accept that we are enough at this very moment then we can appreciate who we are.

This very moment is important…less important than the moment already gone and far more important than the next moment to come because this moment is real and present. We owe it to ourselves to make the most of it.

Life’s journey is nothing more than a mass of moments…an accumulation of nows that were once whens and will become thens.

We should be spending more time appreciating what we have and who we are. There is nothing wrong with hoping and planning for the future. Working on self-improvement and self love is important.

But the past is behind us and the future is nothing more than an expectation.

Now is the moment and the moment is now.
