Timing is important. It’s also a difficult concept to grasp and understand. And yet it can mean the difference between fulfillment and failure.
While it’s not all that difficult to identify the wrong time to reach a decision, make a choice or an announcement, deciding the right time can be far more complicated.
We all must accept the burden or the reward of our choices. It’s that personal responsibility that can make the occasion particularly daunting resulting in delay.
Missed opportunity and regret go hand-in-hand. Time spent waiting for the planets to align is time wasted. The perfect time rarely presents itself.
Due consideration is always recommended. The negatives and the positives, the pros and the cons must all be weighed up before a decision of any importance.
While that is no guarantee of success, inaction is not the answer.
The right choice can be both life-affirming and life-changing. The wrong choice can be quite the opposite.
It’s reassuring, however, to realise that an error can be corrected…that the next choice is not the last choice.
A life well lived is a life of change. More than that it’s a life reacting to change around us. External shifts help shape our attitudes and approaches. We are who we are because of what we do with what we have. What we have is in a state of flux. We decide how that will affect the person we know ourselves to be.
In the final analysis we decide if we are content with the person we are or the situation we find ourselves in. Some things are beyond our control. The best we can hope for is to understand and accept them.
But there is much we can do add value to our lives and the lives of those around us.
The time is now.
