It’s Worth A Thought

Life doesn’t go to plan. The expected is so often negated by the unexpected. The way we want things to unfold is all too rarely the way things actually happen.

That doesn’t mean we should stop planning. Nor does it mean we should stop living. The desire and drive to continue is fuelled by the love we find along the way.

The best we can hope for is to live a life of balance…a life where the bad fails to outweigh the good…a life where the smiles don’t mask the sadness but push the sadness out. In order to find love it’s important that we generate love. And that gets down to the way we think.

The quality of our life is very much dictated by the way we process all that is happening around us. That’s important because our responsibility is what happens through us.

It’s not just a matter of what we think but how we think. And that’s something no-one but ourselves can control. It’s our choice.

We have a duty of care…a duty of care to our families, to our communities, to our society. But, first and foremost, we have a duty of care to ourselves. That’s something  people  can lose sight of when battling the strains, stresses and demands of daily life.

The health experts warn about the potential dangers of filling our bodies with junk food. The dangers of filling our minds with junk thoughts are every bit as real.

We are what we think. While so many of the thoughts we have may be random and unfiltered and even startling at times, it’s our choice to select those we will cling to and those we will dismiss. No-one else can control that process. It’s a solo and sober responsibility and it’s worth a thought.
