We all have unanswered questions. There are things we want explained; justifications we want to hear; confessions we crave; evidences we seek.
It’s the pursuit of truth and meaning and the lessons we learn along the way that shape the person we are and mould the person we will become. Change is inevitable.
One of life’s great confusions is that while we can make life’s journey in company with other people we are all individually responsible. We decide for ourselves. We are liable and we are accountable for our own decisions. And at any one time everyone is at a different point in what is a very personal quest.
We demonstrate where we are at and who we are by our behaviour. The people around us make judgements and assumptions based on what they can see and what they can hear. That puts the onus back on the individual.
We can offer and take advice and guidance but there’s little point in forcing either on anyone. We can attempt to educate and enlighten but the effort will be wasted on an unreceptive and unresponsive audience.
There are a great many questions and there are a great many answers. Charlatans and deceivers intent on their own agendas abound. Convincing lies are told. Today’s answer may not ring true. Today’s answer may not be tomorrow’s answer although the question remains the same.
Maturity brings with it new perspective. Life’s experiences and the input of others impact our mindset and change our attitude. We learn what’s right and we learn what’s wrong. It’s then we choose what it is we are going to believe and follow. That choice remains our own.
Not every decision we make will be the right decision but it will forever be our own decision. Not every correct answer we find will be the answer we want but that should not deter us from the pursuit of truth.
